The difference between synthetic oil and conventional oil is in the manufacturing process and raw materials
used to manufacture the finished product. 

Conventional oils that people are most familiar with, is refined from crude oil to separate the light oil
components from the heavy ones. Basically filtering out as much unwanted molecules as possible.  After the
refining process some unwanted molecules still linger in the product that is acceptable for sale as new
clean oil in layman's terms.

Crude oil which conventional oils are made of contain sulfur, nitrogen and other elements that invite the
formation of sludge and other products of lubrication breakdown.

Synthetic oil is not refined from crude oil like conventional oil but chemically engineered from pure chemicals
that gives them significant advantages over refined oils.  Fully synthetic oil starts with feed stocks that do
not contain sulfur, nitrogen or other elements that invite the formation of sludge and other products of
lubrication breakdown.

Synthetic oil differs from refined oil in three key ways; they are pure, their molecular structure is uniform,
and they may be designed to work in applications in which refined oils cannot.
